Victoria Falls
The Smoke That Thunders

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1989, Victoria Falls — known locally as Mosi-oa-Tunya ("The Smoke That Thunders") — is the world's largest waterfall by combined width and height. Standing at 108 metres tall and 1,708 metres wide, it produces a spray visible from 50 kilometres away.

AOW founder Bheki Ncube has been guiding visitors to these falls for over 16 years. Every one of our experiences — from the adrenaline-charged Devil's Pool swim to the serene sunset river cruise — is delivered with authentic local expertise you simply can't find anywhere else.

Africa Through Our Lens

What Our Travellers
Say About Us

An absolutely incredible experience. Bheki and his team made our honeymoon completely unforgettable. The attention to detail — from private sundowners to that sunrise game drive in Hwange — was beyond anything we expected. We saw the Big 5 on day three!

Everything you need to know about planning your African safari adventure with Adventures on Wheels.

Our packages typically include accommodation, all meals as specified (B&B, half-board or full-board), guided game drives, park entry fees, and all transport within the itinerary. International flights, visas and personal travel insurance are not included unless specifically stated.

Victoria Falls is beautiful year-round but each season offers a different experience. June–August (dry season) offers the most dramatic views with full water flow. September–October has lower water but is excellent for wildlife. November–March is the green season with lush landscapes and fewer crowds. December–April is the rainy season when the falls roar at maximum power.

Most nationalities require a visa for Zimbabwe. You can obtain a single-entry visa ($30) or KAZA UNIVISA ($50) on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport or at the border. The KAZA UNIVISA covers Zimbabwe and Botswana — ideal if your itinerary includes both countries. We recommend checking current visa requirements for your specific nationality before travel.

Pack neutral-coloured, lightweight clothing (khaki, olive, beige — avoid white and bright colours). Layers are important as mornings can be cold. Essential items: sunscreen (SPF 50+), insect repellent, comfortable walking shoes, binoculars, camera with a long lens, and a wide-brimmed hat. We'll send a full packing list when you book.

Yes! We have family-friendly packages tailored for children. Most lodges welcome children 6+ and some from 12+ for walking safaris (for safety reasons). We can customise activities to suit different ages. The Victoria Falls experience, sunset river cruise and cultural village tours are particularly popular with families.

Accommodation ranges from comfortable tented camps to luxury lodges depending on the package you choose. All accommodation is carefully selected for safety, comfort and authentic bush experience. We offer budget-friendly, mid-range and luxury options. Specific lodges are listed in each tour itinerary.

Simply submit an inquiry through our booking form or contact us via WhatsApp (+263 712 789 500) or email (info@aow-africa.com). Our team will respond within 24 hours with a personalised itinerary and quote. A 30% deposit secures your booking with the balance due 60 days before departure.

Cancellations more than 90 days before departure: full refund minus admin fees. 60–90 days: 50% refund. 30–60 days: 25% refund. Less than 30 days: no refund. We strongly recommend purchasing comprehensive travel insurance that covers trip cancellation. We'll assist with all documentation for insurance claims.

Yes, all our packages include airport transfers to/from Victoria Falls International Airport (VFA). If you're flying into another hub (Kasane, Maun, Windhoek), we can arrange transfers from those airports too. Please provide your flight details when booking.

All our tours are conducted in English. Our guides are native Zimbabweans with deep local knowledge. For Shona or Ndebele cultural experiences, we have guides who can provide context in those languages. We can also arrange tours with multilingual guides for German, French and other languages on request.
